Kate is a competitive para cyclist from Calgary, Alberta, competing in the C4 classification. She is a versatile athlete who has competed for Canada in multiple sports, including bobsleigh from 2010 to 2015 and non-Para track cycling at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro. Despite facing significant injuries, including a hamstring tear and multiple knee surgeries, Kate transitioned to Para cycling after recovering from a brain injury in 2017, a decision she considers one of the best she has made. Known for her strength and determination, Kate aims to compete at the  Paris 2024 Paralympics.

What is C4 Classification in Para-cycling?

The C4 classification in para-cycling is for athletes with impairments that cause minimal muscle weakness or limitations in range of motion. This class might include athletes with mild spasticity or amputations.
