May 4, 2024: British Columbia’s Premier David Eby and Premier Alberta Danielle Smith shared an exciting evening at a hockey game. They were there to see the Edmonton Oilers face off against the Vancouver Canucks in the playoffs.
They watched from a private suite at Rogers Arena in Vancouver, not next to each other. Before the game, Alberta Premier Danielle Smith proposed a friendly wager on social media, challenging Eby to wear the winning team’s jersey and read a statement penned by the winner if their team lost.
Eby agreed to the bet.
The series was led 1-0 by the Canucks before this second game. The next two games took place in Edmonton on 11th and 14th May 2024.
